What is a Meta Tech Provider?
What the approval means, why it matters for a business's WhatsApp number and Meta accounts, and what it changes for the automations built on them.
When a business automates its WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook messages, the automation has to connect to Meta's platforms somehow. There is an approved way to do that, and there are unofficial shortcuts. Being an approved Meta Tech Provider means building on the approved way.
What the approval means
Meta approves technology providers to build on its business platforms for their clients. For us it means the automations we build connect through Meta's own business tools, under Meta's rules, rather than through workarounds that imitate a person using the app.
Why it matters for your number
A business's WhatsApp number is where its customers already are. Unofficial tools put that number at risk of being restricted, and with it the conversations and contacts behind it. The approved route is what keeps a business account safe.
What it changes in practice
- Messages go through Meta's business platform, not a phone left running
- Conversations can pass between the assistant and your team
- The automation is built to Meta's rules, not around them
What we build on it
AI assistants on WhatsApp and across the Meta ecosystem, automated messaging and replies, and customer support that runs on its own. Our notes on answering WhatsApp automatically and on Instagram and Facebook replies go into what can be handed over, and the whole pillar is on the social media AI and automation page.
